Jessamine County Coroner

Paul Kauffman

I was born in Minneapolis in 1976. At the age of three, my family moved to Wyoming, where we lived until I graduated from high school. I am the oldest of six siblings, and we all enjoy playing stringed instruments. I also enjoyed hunting and many other outdoor activities in Wyoming. After graduating, I attended three years at Pensacola Christian College in Florida, where I met my wife. We were married in 1998 and moved to Lexington shortly after. My wife and I moved to Nicholasville in August 2000.  We have four children - Andrew, Victoria, Megan, and Madison.

I have served as a pastor since 2003. I am currently a full-time assistant pastor at Heritage Baptist Church in Lexington, where I serve as the music minister and the student minister.

My wife Sara works as an Office Manager/Paralegal for the owner of Gainesway Farm in Lexington. In her spare time she helps me with the many ministries of the church.

My hobbies include driving my motorcycle, playing music with my children and being active in sports or physical fitness.

In March of 2013, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University with concentrations in Religion and Social Science.

In July of 2012, I began to serve with the Jessamine County Coroner’s Office. Since that time, I have completed Basic Training for Coroners and Coroner Firearms training.
